DO NOT DESPISE
DO NOT DESPISE FOR A GREATER
GLORY
Hello sons and daughters in the
Lord. It is always a great pleasure to
help minister to you little truths concerning our lives and our walk with God.
I thank God for the inspiration in helping me to put down these few words. Once
again, I greet you in the name of our lord Jesus Christ the son of glory who
keeps interceding for you and I every now then. I want to share with you a
message I have titled ‘do not despise for a greater glory’.
Our reflection is taken from 2samuel 1:19-20 (NIV). ‘A gazelle lies
slain on your heights Israel. How the mighty have fallen! Tell it not in Gath,
proclaim it not in the streets of Ashkelon, lest the daughters of the
Philistines be glad, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised rejoice. Amen.
Beloved, this was how David eulogies King Saul (believed to be an enemy)
and his son Jonathan after they fell and died in battle. Sons and daughters in
the Lord it is uncommon to see such loyalty and love David showed to Saul who
was even threatening to kill him. For some of us, if we were David we would
have rejoiced and make merry because of the favours, wealth and honour we will
receive. Those of us who every now and then do not have a stable mind and a
good heart in joining a church or a
fellowship but keep moving from one church to the other always despise the
churches they have ever attended. They criticise the pastors, structure of the
building and everything they see. My friends this is a bad practice so we have
to stop. But you are at liberty to go to other churches when you are invited
but do not criticise.
I once met a friend at camp meeting and as it has been my nature and
custom, I inquired from him the churches he has ever attended and other stuffs.
I was left dumbfounded to hear this young boy condemning the church he used to
be and also comparing it with his ‘new’ church. I gave a feint smile because I
once belonged to one of the churches he was condemning. Who are we to Judge.
God save us and draw us to yourself like
never before because we are wondering like Fulani cow with the hope of
discovering your true worship someday. Well you might be an Anglican, a
Catholic, a Pentecostal, a Methodist and whatever denomination. It is never
wrong to leave a church to another but
it depends on your motives. Whenever you leave a church, your employer,
parents, etc. and you are independent do not be saying bad things about them,
just be quiet and do what may please you but if you condemn them, there ill repercussions that will follow you.
Be careful with your mouth and remember to honour people who have once helped
you. Desist from betraying and despising people. Let us be loyal and commit
ourselves to full trust serving in the vineyard of God. Its still all about
Christ.
